Satellite Control and Tasking (SCT)

The Satellite Control and Tasking segment enables the conduct of daily mission planning for the satellite constellation. The mission-planning tools include a sophisticated flight computer emulator, coupled with the Universal Ground Station (UGS) mission planning and tasking software. Access to a rich satellite constellation provides the space reconnaissance center with the ability to collect point targets, lines-of-communications and broad area coverage at varying times of the day.

Information is fed directly into an archive database and can be used to derive change detection information, as well as build critical targeting databases. Radio Frequency Terminal RFT is specifically designed to uplink tasking commands to the satellite and directly downlink the data into the ground station to support mission planning and military operations. UGS has three such antennas for immediate access and downlink of information.
